Liar were a short-lived combo formed in West Belfast in 1984 and were Stephen ‘Punker’ McGreevy on bass, Martin Burns on drums, Pickle on vocals and Paddy O’Neill on guitar. An out and out punk band, they even had the Anarchy sign in their name/logo to prove it! The band played covers such as Drag You Out by The Lurkers and I’m On Fire by Chelsea at local gigs in venues such as Cosmos Youth Club and the Clubhouse on the Glen Road in Belfast. They also had original compositions such as Bad Blood and Albert Clock Subway, but sadly no recordings of these exist. Many of the band members resurfaced in 1985 with post punk combo Donnelly Bros.
