P45

Like so many of their contemporaries, P45 started out by playing mostly cover versions of bands such as The Sex Pistols, The Jam and even Thin Lizzy! However, they soon started writing their own material and came up tracks such as ‘Nobody Is Right’, ‘UFO’, ‘Security’ ‘Out With The Boys, ‘American Boys’ and the track which they will always be remembered for, ‘Teenage Love Song’.

They were soon regulars at the Harp Bar, supporting acts like The Outcasts. They also got a major break when they were featured on the 1980 Belfast Edition of the BBC2 Youth Programme – Something Else (see below). P45 also had the same track featured on a 1982 compilation album ‘Now In Session’. All tracks featured on the album were radio sessions recorded at Downtown Radio and included The Outcasts, The Moondogs and Protex.

In 1998 the same track again appeared on a compilation album, this time on the bootleg album Bloodstains Across Northern Ireland Vol. 2

The band were Davy Huntley - Vocals, Willy - Lead guitar, Michael - Rhythm guitar, John – Bass and Brian on Drums..
